A Bitch Session

I haven't bitched about things in a while, so I'm going to get a few things off my chest now.  First, who in the hell decided that it was socially acceptable to wear your friggin pajamas out in public?  I don't care if its 2am and your baby needs Tylenol.  I don't.  Put some friggin jeans on, grab a BRA - your boobs are not acceptable hanging around your knees no matter what time of day or night it is - and would it kill you to run a brush through your hair?  Ugh.. Drives me insane.  The only time its acceptable to be in public in your pajamas is when you are 3 years old, and its PJ day at pre-school.  That's it.

Second, just because you have a dog, it doesn't make you a dog lover.  Dog lovers don't tie their animal outside for hours on end where it has limited access to water, food, shade, etc.  Dog lovers don't let their dog bark constantly hour after hour after God blessed hour.  I sleep with my dog.  I bake special treats JUST FOR MY DOG.  I threw her a birthday party for God's sake.  If Maddie is outside for any length of time, so am I and you had better believe that there is always ICE COLD water for her to drink, a soft place for her to lay down, and a shady spot to sleep in.  If Maddie is barking, I immediately investigate WHY and make her stop.  Obviously something is up.  I share ice cream with my dog and not like, oh, I don't want to finish this, here, you have it, share...I mean you have a lick, I have a lick.  I realize that that's a little extreme for some but truth be told, dog's mouths are very clean.  I walk my dog, run with my dog, take my dog to the friggin park...she's basically my other child.  If you can't own up to any of these things, you should seek another family for your dog because it is suffering.

Ok, my third and final bitch, if you are unemployed, and have bills to pay, there is NO EXCUSE not to find a job.  I'm not saying you should become a brain surgeon or find a cure for cancer.  The gas station down the street is looking for attendants.  The garbage company needs trash collectors.  Get a friggin' job and shut the hell up.  Take the shitty ass job for now, and when something better and more suitable comes along, stitch.  Nothing says you have to be a gas station attendant forever.  But, you do NOT get to complain that you have no money and can't pay your bills if you're too good to become temporarily employed somewhere.  OH, and further more, if you are unemployed, and too proud to take a shit job for a short time, DON'T YOU DARE go down to the SSA office and apply for food stamps, WIC, health insurance.  I bust my ass at those craptastic jobs so I can AFFORD to pay my bills and put food on the table not so you can be a lazy fuck who sits around drinking beer and smoking cigarettes (which I paid for - you're welcome).  Those shti jobs, in my opinion, will humble your ass and help you appreciate the good things in life.  AND, they build character, something you clearly don't have.

I'm sorry...I got a little fired up there for a minute and I apologize but man, that burns me the wrong way.  Ok.  I'm done now.  I'm going to bake banana nut bread!

Random Thoughts from my Brain Tonight

Tonight is one of those nights when my brain is flooded with completely random thoughts.  Here, I will share a few.

First, I worked tonight and Tim felt it necessary to sing Britney Spears...outloud...and now I too, am singing Britney Spears. Here, have a listen:

Second, I disclosed some fairly private information to said Tim tonight...not because I felt he needed to know more than anyone else, but because I had to tell SOMEONE. It was one of those tidbits of information that were it as simple as "I won $1,000,000" you'd shout it from the roof tops but you can't really say anything yet, so the first person you see that you trust gets to be secret keeper. He better keep it secret....

Third, I promised Lilly that I wouldn't clean her room. That's right - I'm going to leave the massive piles of stuff exactly as is until she returns because "it's her room", and she can, "leave it a hot mess with toys everywhere", if she wants too. THIS IS KILLING ME! I CAN'T STAND IT! UGH!!!!

Fourth, I JUST realized Idol was on tonight and I missed it. That blows. I actually kind of like it this season. I missed it last week too. Ugh.

Fifth, I think I'm going running tomorrow morning if anyone would like to join me. Say....10 o'clock? Nothing big....30 minutes and home again. Let me know.

34897256038465, I bought gas today for the Jeep. I usually fill it at a half but I let it run allllll the way down this week. $78 later....Friggin' Jeep. Can't wait to get rid of it.
OK, I think I'm done. Lissa, I'm sorry this is a lame post.

Hello...Good-bye...oops...

Today was a very bizarre day for me. But, in order to tell my story, there needs to be some back story.

So, I'll reference the Maddie story from My Sister Karma.....you know, the one where I tell you the dog is friggin' crazy and has eaten all my shoes? So the other day I ran into TJMaxx and found a cute pair of Nine West heels for like $10. I needed them for Grape's (Todd's grandmother, Nana the Great, or Grape to Lilly) funeral. So, $10 heels in hand, I left the store. Ok, so with the heels I planned on wearing a *classic* black sleeveless dress with tights. The tights I got at the Gap (duh) for $4.50. The dress, I've had but haven't fit into since I had Lilly....8 years ago.

Also, we need to know that I have a friend named Martha. We've been friends for 15 years now. We swam together in 1996 at NFA and then reunited through the East Great Plain and Laurel Hill fire departments in Norwich. We worked together at Groton Ambulance and Gap.

Ok. Back to today. So I needed to leave this morning by 9:30am in order to get coffee and gas, and make it to Grape's funeral by 11. Well, my dress fit perfectly, except I couldn't zip it myself...I'm not a contortionist. So then I opened my tights, and.....big hole in them. Great. It's 38 degrees and I'm in my pretzel dress and hole-filled tights. So then I grab my shoes and ling story short, the right shoe is smaller than the left one. Great. Great great great. Ugh....so I get in the car go to get my coffee (which I get successfully with my handy dandy D&D card) and head to the had station...only to discover that my debit card...is at the gap in my locker with a few other things I out there yesterday while working so I wouldn't forget them. That worked out well right? So I'm now wearing shoes that are too small, in holey tights, with my dress half zipped and driving with less than a 1/4 tank of gas. So I stop at my mom's shop (because gap is 20 minutes in the opposite direction) and borrow some cash. A lot of swearing and mumbling under my breath later, I arrive at the church JUST as the funeral is getting underway.

The rest of that part remained flawless. From there (Bristol) I head to Yale to visit Martha and her triplets. Yup. Three mini Martha's joined the world Sunday at midnight, midnight, and 1 minute after midnight. This part of the story is only filled with awws and oohs. I have pictures but I can't upload them to this page just yet.  EDIT: Here are the much anticipated pictures I promised.  The first three are the day they were born, and the next set is 3 days later.  So stinkin small but yet so stink cute!

Mackensie Leigh     2lb0oz     13.75"

Madison Lynn     2lb 11oz     15.5"

Morgan Lacey     2lb 13oz     15.75"

Mackensie a.k.a. The Little One

Madison a.k.a. The Twin (to Mackensie)

Morgan a.k.a. The Grabber and/or The Big One

So I left the hospital 2 hours later and headed home. I got to Old Lyme and guess what? The friggin gas light comes on. My options are go to gap and grab my debit card then find a gas station and pray I don't run out of gas.....or head home and pray I don't run out of gas. I should pray more often because obviously, I'm not doing it right. So, I called trusty ol' ma, met her at a gas station, and rectified the fuel issue. Tomorrow, I will be a) going to the gap, b) getting a debit card in my moms name just in case I lose mine, and c) learning how to pray.

I finally got home around 6:45pm, only to remember.....I was supposed to be at Lilly's school at 6pm. Oops?!?!?
